Hello friends and fans, we’re on the Camino de Santiago until early October so we’re a little focused on that right now. We’ll be cranking this site up when we get to Portugal. Thanks for your patience.

in 2025 all the stars aligned for us so we rented out our house, sold everything and booked a flight to Europe, then found our way to the Parynees town of St Jean Pied de Port, France, rested a bit, saddled up and started our walk on The French Way (Camino de Santiago). In about 40 days, we’ll end in Finistère, where we can stop walking.

From there, we’ll head south into Portugal, then more Spain, then it gets wide open and unplanned, just like we wanted.

The Travel Plan

The first section of the journey: Walking the Camino de Santiago from St. Jean Pied de Port France all the way to Finistere, Spain. It’s about 550 miles and might take 40 days.

After we hit the end at the coast, the plan is to travel south into Portugal and and then more Spain.

After that? It’s wide open for a year when we come back to turn the house over, see some friends and then take a repositioning cruise to Japan and do a Camino there, then tour SE Asia. Visa requirements and Schengen Zone rules are the only limiting factors so far.

Camino de Santiago

We began in St. Jean Pied de Port, France and will end in Finisterre, Spain.
